About Our Military Ministry

The Military Ministry at Pikes Peak Christian Church serves our congregation and the military community through programs that support families on the home front and soldiers serving abroad. The Military Ministry is not a separate unit of the church, but an extension of our church family. Because the support military families require is unique, this ministry is necessary to assure their needs are met. Our goal is to strengthen families with the support of this ministry and guide them with connections to other ministries within the church.

The Military Ministry is meant to serve our military community, but anyone is welcome to serve. We are not a "club," and you do not need to be associated with the military to be a member of our team. We welcome anyone who has a passion to serve our soldiers, our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Ministry Leader

Val Hoyt

Val's husband is in the Army and they are stationed at Fort Carson. The Hoyt's have three daughters, Allison, Samantha, and Emily. Val and her husband have been married for eight years. In addition to leading our Military Ministry, Val is currently working on her degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and hopes to continue work with military families. Val and her husband are originally from Montana, but wish to stay in the Springs. She is extremely excited about what God is doing in our church, and how He has enabled her to serve our military members. Thank you to everyone who has supported this ministry!

Military Spouse Study Groups

Military spouse study groups meet Wednesday evenings and Tuesday Mornings. Child care is available. For more information contact Val Hoyt or fill out a Military Ministry Information Form at the Welcome Center in the Lobby.

Military Family Potlucks

Military family potlucks are scheduled at 12:30 the third Sunday of each month in the church Peak View Room. Come bring a dish to share and fellowship with other military families.

Ways To Support This Minsitry

Pray for our soldiers and their families
Host a military family or single soldier
Volunteer at a ministry event
Donate items or funds for Parent's Days Out, Fun Days, or care packages
