ABOUT OUR PASTORAL CARE CENTER
The Pastoral Care Center at Pikes Peak Christian Church seeks to provide Biblical help through Life’s Changes. The ministry includes five levels of care consisting of Prayer Partners, Staff, Interns, Shepherds and Professional Therapists.
PRAYER PARTNERS
Our Prayer Team is here to pray with you or for you and your loved ones. There is no matter too big or too small to lift up in prayer. We have a prayer chain available for urgent and time-sensitive prayer requests as well as a team of prayer partners that are available to meet with you.
Our prayer room is located on the East side of our building, just across from the Sanctuary, and is staffed with prayer partners during all services. You are also free to use it during business hours for a quiet time of prayer.
If you or a loved one is in need of immediate prayer, please send your request to Carol Murphy who will be happy to send it out to our prayer chain.
STAFF
The staff at Pikes Peak Christian Church is ready to serve and minister to you. We are currently a staff of twenty plus willing to sit and listen to you and your current needs. After meeting with a staff member they may recommend further ministry opportunities and with your permission may ask if it’s ok to pass your name and contact information on to our Pastoral Care Department.
INTERNS
Our interns serve a vital role on the Pastoral Care Team. After a long interview process these students are carefully chosen by Pastor Rick Dettling. Each of our interns has a compassion for people and provides opportunities for people to find healing for wounded and broken hearts. They bring with them their growing counseling skills to help us in strengthening our church families and individuals.
SHEPHERDS
How do we minister to the 1500 plus that call Pikes Peak Christian Church Home? We do this through our Shepherding ministry.
The purpose of our Shepherding Ministry is to provide or to tend to the needs of God’s flock, including: spiritual, emotional and physical needs. God desires Shepherds to strengthen the weak, heal the sick, bind up the broken, bring back the scattered, seek the lost and feed the young sheep.
Our shepherds are appointed by Pastor Rick and Barry Dodson to individuals and families that are in need of someone to walk through life’s journey with them.
PROFESSIONAL THERAPISTS
We recognize that there are times when individuals or families need another level of ministry. During these seasons of need we provide professional therapy with a Licensed Counselor.
PPCC contracts with professional therapists who use our facility to minister to those with special needs. These appointments are set up through our Pastoral Care Ministry. If you feel you have need for this service, please contact us and we will be glad to assist you with the therapist that can best meet your needs.
OTHER PASTORAL CARE SERVICES
In Addition to our Pastoral Care Center offerings, the Pastoral Care department also offers the following services: Hospital Visitation, Prison Ministry, Benevolence (Cars, Food Pantry), Baptisms, Funerals, Weddings, and Well Care Classes (Divorce Care, Healing Journey, Grief Share, Deployed Soldiers Spouses).
