Having a kid changes everything! Whether it’s your first child or your sixth, being a parent is not for the faint of heart. But you don’t have to take it on alone. We want to stand with you and your family as you commit to raising your new bundle of joy to know and love the Lord. We want to partner with you as you enter into this lifelong relationship with your new son or daughter, and we want to help you to be the parent God has called you to be.
We do Baby Dedication in two parts: the Dedication & Celebration Event which is limited to family and friends, and our Recognition Event which will be during one of our Sunday morning services. Our upcoming Baby D events are listed below. The Dedication & Celebration Event will be on Saturday, at 6:30pm and the Recognition Event will be on Sunday, during our 9:15 and 11:00 services. Register by filling out the Baby D Registration form for the date you’d like to attend, then watch your email for instructions on completing the required homework.
Baby Dedication events for 2019 are:
Baby Dedication Parent Training
We are honored to host you and your family at this event. But we want you to know—it’s so much more than just an event. Our baby dedication celebrations are meant to serve as a way for you as parents to begin thinking about what your child needs most—and we believe that is love. Yes, your love, but more importantly, the love of their heavenly Father.
Our hope is that through BabyD, you will establish a commitment to raising your child to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. And not only that, but we want to partner with you in this endeavor. Because of that, we ask that you watch these two short videos before attending the event. In each video, you will be given an assignment to complete before BabyD. And listen—we know you’re busy—so we wouldn’t ask you to do these things if we didn’t think they were very, very important.
Before you jump into the training check out the FAQs.
Imagine The End
In this first video you’ll hear about the most important thing for you to focus on both now and as your child grows up.
You’ll be asked to send your 3-5 words to us in an email at the end of this training. But please, don’t just pick words. Take your time, think about it who you want your child to be and then choose the words that will describe him or her.
You can also download and print these Imagine the End cards and write your words on them. You may want to make one for each person attending the dedication as we’ll be sharing these words during the event.
Some parents also like to chose a Bible verse that they believe will guide their child as he or she grows up. You don’t have to have one for BabyD but if you do choose one, we’ll share it during the celebration. If you’re not sure where to start, you can check out this list of potential life verses.
Widen The Circle
In this video you’ll hear about brining other people who will help shape you and your children into their circle of influence.
Widening the circle is one of the most helpful and influential things you can do to help ensure that your children grow up to know and love God. Here is a special invitation that you can download and print to invite the people you want in your circle to the dedication celebration.
There’s one last thing we need you to do. Please send an email to NextGen@yes2God.org with…
1. Your child’s name
2. Your 3-5 words
3. Your life verse if you chose one and
4. A picture of your child.
We hope you’re excited about the journey you’re starting with your child. We want you to know that Pikes Peak Christian Church wants to walk with you every step of the way. We can’t wait to begin at the celebration event. See you there soon!
